Linux/EVMK2H: EVMK2H reset fail when using "mpmcl reset dsp0"

Hi, everybody

I run dsp code on dsp0 on EVMK2H,using command line to reset ,load and run like below,

mpmcl reset dsp0

mpmcl load dsp0 test.out

mpmcl run dsp0

It is OK in most cases. but sometime it reset fail like below.

But when I turn off power of EVMK2H, and turn on again .It run OK and reset success.

I don't know why reset failed sometime.Do someone know about that?Or have any clue or tips to debug ?

Hi,

This is quite old sdk with limited support. Anyway, can you inspect the bootlog to see if the mpmcl is properly loaded upon booting your board? I guess some service is not started properly upon board boot and that is why you need to reset the board in order to use mpmcl reset.

I saw the boot log on my Terminal when it fail to reset .

And I compare with normal Reset boot log,Find that something different about starting mpmsrv when reset fail.

I still want to know why it happen . I really need EVMK2H to autorun. Could you have any idea to avoid to this situation, or give me help to trace?

Hi,

As I said, the MCSDK is quite old and I am not familiar with it and cannot guess why the mpmsrv daemon is getting stuck like this.

What I can suggest you try as a workaround is to create your own service (or init script, I think mcsdk uses inint scripts and udev, instead of services and systemd) that restarts the daemon upon board bootup, this way you won't need to restart the whole device in order to get the mpmcl reset to work.
