DM385: CSI2_COMPLEXIO_IRQSTATUS meaning

Part Number: DM385

Hello!

I'm trying to start CSI2 interface on DM385 processor.

In connection with that I have the question:

Does zero in CSI2_COMPLEXIO_IRQSTATUS register field  ERRSOTHSx mean that Start of Transition event had never happened

on proper line? (Provided CSI2 is powered and enabled)

Just in case, related register values

 [m3vpss ] CSI2_CTRL    [29a869]
 [m3vpss ] CSI2_COMPLEXIO_IRQENAB [7ffffff]
 [m3vpss ] CSI2_COMPLEXIO_CFG   [6b000123]
 [m3vpss ] CSI2_COMPLEXIO_IRQSTAT [0]

ERRSOTHSx = 0 means event (Start of transmission error for lane x) is false. It means that Start of Transition error had never happened.

ERRSOTHSx is ISS CSI PHY Error Signal. It is used for error detection and signaling. Flags 1-bit errors in the HS start of transmission synchronization pattern.

  • Thanks,

So it signals an error in packet leader sequence, right?

Just one more thing about the same register:

Fields STATEULPMx -  Lane x in ULPM

and   STATEALLULPMEXIT - At least one of the active lanes has exit the ULPM

Doesn't it look contradictory if all these fields are in 0?

That is there is no lanes in ULPM, but no lanes exited ULPM?

  • Hi German

Pavel asked me to look at your follow up queries, but given it is an older device and NRND'd there is limited support ecosystem around this.

Are you still blocked w/o getting clarification on the register definition query? Please let us know

    Regards

    Mukul

  • Hi,

Thanks, I think I resolved those issues, I thought I marked it as resolved, just marking it one more time.

As for TI's spruhl6a - ISS user guide, it really leaves something to be desired, but I'm afraid I'm late with

    my comments.

For those who will be interested in the issue:

All the mentioned errors from CSI2_COMPLEXIO_IRQSTATUS  are standard MIPI cases, described

in MIPI D-PHY spec, it was just worth mentioning.

  • Hi German

I appreciate you capturing the lessons learnt for future users.

    Thanks
