Gel File for TMS320DM320

Hi All,

I am trying to connect to the TMS320DM320 board using CCS2.2 and Spectrum Digital Jtag emulator.

As per the Installation guide it says that the CPU require TMS320DM320_ARM926.gel file. But after the installation of CCS2.2 such a file is not there in the gel folder.

How can i get TMS320DM320_ARM926.gel file? Please help me on this

Thanks

Jack

  • First I would like to say that DM320 is not a widely available part, so support for it is limited, additionally it is somewhat old so if you are starting a new design you may want to consider a newer and better supported device such as the DM6446 or DM355. If you are using the DM320 I suspect you received your information on it from your local TI contact, if you intend to use this device your best bet would be to work directly with your local TI contact on such issues.

I can say that the public CCS 2.21 release is old enough to not have support for DM320, so you may have problems beyond the GEL file, I suspect you could use one of the newer CCS 3.x releases however I have never tried connecting to a DM320 so I cannot say for sure myself. Typically you would get a GEL file that is specific to your board, so you may want to contact your board vendor to see if they can get you a GEL file, if that is not possible you may be able to get one through your local TI contact whom is supporting you on DM320.
