RTOS/TDA2P-ACD: Requirement of CVBS -MIPI CSI2 video decoder giving progressive output

Hi All,

Does TI has a CVBS to MIPI CSI2 video decoder which gives progressive data output?

We need to connect the decoder to capture data from CVBS cameras and feed that data to ISS Capture of TDA2P

    Hi Deepika,

    I don't think we have product that can receive NTSC/PAL/SECAM, deinterlace and output on CSI2 interface.

    However, let me check with others also.

    Alternately, you could consider using this chain below

    CVBS - > TVP* -> VIP (TDA2Px) -> Dei (VPE) -> Other processing.

    How many channel of video would be required.?

    Thanks for the reply.

    We have 4 CVBS cameras.

    We went through DEI present.This looks like motion de interlacer. We need to separate odd and even fields.

    Currently the decoder which we are using is ISL79987(Intersil). This gives data in odd and even fields with 720x240 resolution. We need to combined them and create a 720x480 frame. So wanted to ask can VPE DEI can achieve this?

    From ISS capture we are not getting any field information.

    Hi Deepika,

    Yes DEI can be used. But the ISL79987 not providing field info will be an issue. The DEI requires the user to provide odd and even fields separately.

    Can you please check if ISL79987 could be programmed to 

    Embed field data a part of video frame (SW could read that and determine even/odd) or if one of the fields can output 1 less line of video (again SW could figure out even/odd field)
