Hello,

I am already developed a data logger using TMS320C6748 DSP processor. I used processor sdk in windows laptop with code composer studio 8. Also I am able to put my application in boot.

Now I need to replace the TMS320C6748 with OMAPL138 processor, I need to run applications running in ARM and DSP separately and data should transferred between the processors using IPC.

Can I do this using the windows laptop with code composer studio 8? or I require a Linux laptop to program ARM processor with linux os installed?

Is there any document available for this so that I can follow the steps.

There is no step-by-step guide for achieving this.

In order to run linux on the ARM core, you need a linux host PC. So no, you cannot use the widows laptop with CCS only, you will have to install virtual machine which runs linux and program the omap-l138 with Processor SDK Linux.

Dear yordon,

Is there any other OS which can be loaded in ARM processor so that I can program it from a windows PC? I don't have much experience in using linux OS thats why I am asking this question.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

For your first question I am not familiar with the example you linked. It should be possible to use it on OMAP-L138 devices, but I am not sure this is a TI example, so you'll get limited support on that.

As for other OS, here are the available operating systems supported on the OMAP-L13x devices:

Note that VxWorks is a third party OS and is supported by the vendor.

I'd suggest using linux on the ARM core of omap-l138 device.
