[TDA4M] Reqeust for the software supporting TPS65941-Q1 PMIC

Hi,

I heard that next two TDA4M EVM boards will be shipped at the end of Aug, and the New TI PMIC (TPS65941-Q1) will be replaced with new EVM board.

So I need the software stack supporting TPS65941-Q1, and can not wait this PMIC software until psdk ver1.0 releases.

When can I get the the PMIC software that PMIC works well on SoC ?

    We have plans for supporting 1.0 - (v6.1.0). You should be able to boot the board without the driver with Boot voltages. Are you looking for any specific features of Leo PMIC which would be blocked with the SDK 6.1.0 release?

    Before the question, does Leo PMIC mean new PMICs(TPS65941)?

    Q1) I need the PMIC driver which can change default PIN setting such as GPIOs of TPS65941. Is it able to control by using WKUP I2C0 control?

    From the TDA4 TRM document, 12 POK in WKUP domain can be detected if each voltage status is Under  or Over. Furthermore, I am looking for the way of monitoring voltage status of I/O, PHY, DDR and any peri devices with TDA4M EVM with TPS65941 two PMICs.

    Q3)

    When will the PSDK ver1.0(SDK ver6.1.0) be released?

    Is it possible to get the patches of the  PMIC driver of TPS65941 before PSDK ver1.0 release?

    Regarding the previous question 2,

    the PMIC driver is needed to read PMIC voltage output using I2C from TDA4 SoC .

    As you know, voltage monitoring functionality with WKUP 14 POK at TDA4 SoC can be provided, but I want to know about the way of  monitoring voltage of DDR, I/O, PHY, PLL  blocks and peri devices which seems not to be monitored by TDA4 SoC software. I am considering if these voltages can not be monitored, it can not be satisfied with the functional safety of TDA4 SoC. 

    I am looking forward to your reply about my questions.

    [Piyali]: You could control the TPS65941 using WKUP I2C0

    [Piyali]: The TPS65941 has internal monitors for the voltage rails which you can use as well. Power-Good Monitor for buck and LDO regulators, VIN Monitor, Over-Current Monitor, Short Circuit Monitor for Buck voltage outputs and Short Circuit Monitor for LDO outputs.

    [Piyali] : The SDK v6.1.0 is available in Oct mid.
    I will need to follow up with the team if the patches could be provided earlier.

    Does the evm board with Leo PMIC boot up with  psdk v0.9 ?

    Can you check and confirm if next board boots up with psdk v0.9 before shipping it?

    The EVM with TPS65941  would boot up with the SDK 0.9 as well. This is because the TPS65941 would have its own one time programmed boot voltage which is independent of the software running on the J7.

    We would also receive some Beta EVMs on which we would be running the SDKs. I do not believe you should face any basic boot issues.
