AM6548: Early debug prints in SPL

Part Number: AM6548

Hi

We are trying to get the early debug prints to work in SPL but no luck. in each file that we want to ge t the debug("") to print we put

#define DEBUG

We know we can print very early because we put printf("")  above the debug(""). On the serial port we get the printf but not the debug. Can you let me know how i can get the debug("") to work with SPL?

for example in the file  ./drivers/ram/k3-am654-ddrss.c there is a line

debug("%s: addr = 0x%p, value = 0x%x\n", __func__, addr + offset, data);

i do have the below statement after all the includes

#define DEBUG

on the console i dont see the debug info. But if I add a printf above the debug line it does print to the console. Not sure why. Any help would be great.

Thanks
