PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Touchscreen not working in Matrix GUI

Hi,

we recently bought a AM335x Evaluation Module to start some research on working with TI´s SDK.

I have experienced the following using supplied linux SD card and with my own created with SDK 6.00.00.07.

While playing with the evaluation module I discovered an issue with the touchscreen. During the weston-calibration touch inputs are recognized, but after that the Matrix GUI does not response to touch inputs at all. I tried to re-calibrate several times using weston-calibration, but it did not work. However, weston-simple-touch seems to recognize touch inputs, so I can draw lines.

Am I missing some calibration steps to get it work?

Hi Nick,

yes I followed the steps from ‘How to Recalibrate the Touchscreen - Weston based Graphic System’. I deleted ws-calibrate.rules and restarted the board. Weston-calibration started on boot-up and I did the calibration. However, it is the same as before. Weston-simple-touch seems to detect touch inputs, but Matrix-GUI still is not responding to touch.

Hi,

I got the same issue like you, but the evm board I used is Am335x start kit.

I find the message form https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/embedded-linux.html#touch, It said "For some resistive, single-touch touch screens it may be necessary to fall back to using tslib instead of relying on the Linux multi-touch protocol and the event devices."

I still digging how to fall back to using tslib. If you have new discoveries, we can discuss with each other. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I didnt dive any further into this, since it turned out that our final product wont have a touchscreen support.

However, I have found some info you might be interested in.
