A byte is 8-bit long by definition.
Hi Biser
I am told that TMS320F2837X use 16-bit bytes and AM3358 is 8-bit bytes. Does 16-bit bytes mean a byte is 16bit long? Thanks
All Sitara devices use the standard convention, where a byte is 8 bits long.
I cannot say for TMS320F2837X. C2000 microcontrollers are supported on a dedicated forum: e2e.ti.com/.../171 Please ask all C2000 related questions there.
Part Number: AM3358
Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
while AM3358 is Sitara™ ARM® Cortex®-A8 32‑Bit RISC Processor.
The Delfino TMS320F2837x contains a 32-bit floating-point microcontroller unit (MCU) and is available in both single and dual-core configurations. The TMS320F2837xD has a dual-core C28x architecture, with the TMS320F2837xS offering the same functionality in a single-core equivalent. But do you say TMS320F2837X is 16-bit bytes? What does "16-bit bytes" mean? I know 8 bit is one byte. Thanks
Anping,
We do not support Delfino on this forum. They are supported by a different team on a different forum: https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171
Please ask any Delfino-related questions there.
Hi Biser
My question is why TI call AM3358 8 bit byte and TMS320F2837X 16 bit byte although they all are 32 bit processor. Thanks
I answered you about AM335x. About TMS320F2837X please ask on the c2000 forum.
Hi Biser
I were told that TMS320F2837X use 16-bit bytes, AM3358 is 8-bit bytes. I want to know why they call like that. They all are 32 bit processor. There is a reason to call like that. I like to know. Thanks
