TMS320C6747: Can starter kit "OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit" can be powered up USB Cable alone without any external power supply

Hi Team,

I am starting this thread to know whether it is possible to power up the starter kit "OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit" from USB alone without need for any external power supply ? If not, can you suggest any other starter kit with almost similar specifications which can be powered up by USB alone ?

We want to purchase this kit for audio application in our project. Single core DSP will suffice our requirement.

Hi Mohit,

I don't have TMS320C6747 EVM on my side to test. However, reading the board TRM:

I can't see anything mentioned about powering the baord through USB port.
However, I do have OMAP-L138 LCDK on my side, and I can verify that this board can be powered up through USB port.

Thanks for the reply. Can this board "OMAP-L138 LCDK" also has atleast 2 interfaces to interface with microphone in ?

We need to use this board with input from microphone and standard audio output interface as well.

Can you please confirm ?

Hi Yordan,

Also, since this board "OMAP-L137/TMS320C6747 Floating Point Starter Kit" can support upto 4 mic in for audio that's why it is very convenient for us to use.

If somehow it's possible to power it through USB that will be great for us.
