DRA829 - TCAM feature for Ethernet switch

Can you please elaborate on the usage requirements for TCAM?

The DRA8x supports classifier/policer blocks which can classify/filter packets based on the L2/L3 header fields and also can take action like to drop, rate limit, filter packet.

So, customer hopes to achieve more fast switching process by hardware table (TCAM) for security ACL, QoS ASL and searching at routing table.

Thanks for the details use-case needs. Strictly speaking, our switch doesn't support the TCAM in it. Though all the above-mentioned requirements can be fulfilled by using other IP blocks of CPSW switch. 

The classifier block can analyze packet contents like packet priority, OUI, src address, dest address, IP, etc. and take action like rate limit, filter it, etc. We also have hardware support for inter VLAN routing which can route packets among multiple VLANs.

So we should be able to meet customer requirements with these blocks. Hope this helps.
