AM6548: VDDSHVx power consumption

Part Number: AM6548

Hello everyone,

the datasheet says that the power consumption has removed. I already got the power consumption for the core and the VDDA_* lines, but I still miss is the max. current values of the IO bank (VDDSHV0 etc.). Is it possible to get any information about that topic?

Best regards

Adrian

  • There is a "power consumption summary" app note that is available through MySecureSoftware. The supply groups for dvdd_1v8 and dvdd_3v3 represent the power consumption through the AM65x IO banks. On the AM6548 EVM the Ethernet ports are at 1.8V so you can see the dvdd_1v8 supply increase in Table 15 during the iperf network test.

The IO bank power draw is dependent on the application so more information about the system is required. For IO the number of pins and the frequency of toggle will impact power the most. So a 24-bit parallel display would draw the most power for example.

Although the AM6548 EVM does not have a parallel display output you can still reference the AM57x power consumption summary app notes. In there you can see the impact of Graphics and Ethernet tests on the 3.3V supplies. See "vddshv_3v3" in Section 3.3 of the AM571x app note for example (SPRACF1).
