[TDA4M] Emulator connect

I am bringing up TDA4 EVM.

I am testing an emulator.

I installed Code Composer Studio 9.0.1 and completed the patch.

1)ti_emupack_setup_8.2.2.47_win_64.exe

2) ti_emupack_patch_j7es_8.2.2.47_win_64.exe

3) auto_rvp_rsp_device_support_1.0.5_J7ES_beta.zip

The XDS110 in the TDA4 EVM has a working test connection.

but, XD560V2 STM usb generates an error as shown below.

--------[An error has occurred and this utility has aborted]--------

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-183' (0xffffff49).

the title is 'SC_ERR_CTL_CBL_BREAK_FAR'

The explanation is :

The controller has detected a cable break far-from itself.

the user mus connect the cable/pod to the target.

I connected the mipi 60pin cable normally. But it doesn't work. I hope you help me.

It seems there is some problem in emulator connection.

Can you share a pic showing how you have connected XDS560v2.

--> I'm sorry. I can't attach a photo due to our company policy.

But I have a TDA2PX board. So in the same way I could connect the XDS560V2 STM usb and get a log of the following successful connections:

-----[Perform the Integrity scan-test on the JTAG DR]------------------------

This test will use blocks of 64 32-bit words.
This test will be applied just once.

Do a test using 0xFFFFFFFF.
Scan tests: 1, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x00000000.
Scan tests: 2, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0xFE03E0E2.
Scan tests: 3, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x01FC1F1D.
Scan tests: 4, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x5533CCAA.
Scan tests: 5, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0xAACC3355.
Scan tests: 6, skipped: 0, failed: 0
All of the values were scanned correctly.

The JTAG DR Integrity scan-test has succeeded.

So, I don't think it's a connection problem.

Hi,

Just to summarize it was an issue with Target Configuration.

Connection worked after changing Device to DRA8x9.

Now GPEVM_DRA8X also works.

So user can also try to create a configuration to see if the issue goes away.
