Hi,

It is possible to access CAN peripheral from PRU?

I would like to move my CAN Stack from main core to one of the PRUs.

I would like to have fully functional CAN interface running on PRU.

Hi,

The CAN peripheral is accessible from the PRU. However I doubt that you can port a complete CAN stack on a PRU - the available program memory is 12KB in the best case. Same about data memory - 8KB in the best case.

Thanks you for your help!

I checked CCS compiler Memory allocation for PRU on AM4376, I have noticed that there are two additional memory areas available.

PRU shared Memory 32KB

and

L3OCMC 64KB

Would it be possible to run a code(or keep data .bss) directly from these memories ?

Each PRU core can execute code only from its own dedicated instruction memory.
