PPP in LSP 2.0

Hello,

could you please help me with the following issue?

I have moved from LSP 1.2 to LSP 2.0. Unfortunately, the root fs (ramdisk) provided with
LSP 2.0 does not contain ppp related stuff (pppd, libpcaps, /etc/ppp etc.) anymore.

The pppd(+libs) daemon from LSP1.2 does not work, it stalls in the middle of negotiation with the ISP.

I have downloaded ppp 2.4.4 package and built it for my environment. If I run the pppd, I get:
# pppd call gsm
/usr/local/sbin/pppd: 1: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
#

Is that possible to have the 'full' root fs version?
What is the correct way to build user mode ppp application?

Thank you in advance,
Max

  • LSP 1.2 is based on 2.6.10 kernel and LSP 2.0 is based on 2.6.18 kernel; therefore, I would expect significant differences.  I am not familiar with ppp application, but are you certain that the version you are using is compatible with 2.6.18 kernel (LSP 2.0)?  I will do some digging around on my end as well, but this is the first thing you should check.

  • Hello ,

I test different version and i have the same problem .

There is some one that you find the solution or any idea to resolve this problem.

    PS :
