Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X

Hi champs,

customers, who develop process visualisation HMIs, more often ask for HTML5 support.

Trend is to support 1K...2K displays.

Possible solutions are browsers like Chromium or QT Browse with HW acceleration of WebGL  interface,

Q: Which of our Linux Processor SDKs (AM437,AM57xx, AM65xx) support these requirements ?

    Hello,

    Please correct me if I am wrong but you would like to know which processor (AM437x, AM57x and AM65x) supports the following requirements:

    1. HTML5 Support?
    2. Display resolution (1K or 2K or both) and are you looking for dual displays?
    3. Are you looking general chromium support on our SoC?

    Which Sitara SoCs  do support browsers (like Chromium) with HTML5 with GPU support.

    Hello,

    We support qtWebengine which is chromium-based and the chromium-wayland browser on AM335x/437x/57xx. However, both browsers do not work on PSDK6.x due to GPU incapability issue.

    PSDK 5.x:
    AM335x/437x: qtWebengine, Chromium-Wayland. (NOTE: We do not emphasize the browser support because performance is not good due to lack of CPU power)
    AM57xx: qtWebengine ,Chromium-Wayland (Recommended) 
    AM654x: qtWebkit only because Chromium-based browser does not work

    PSDK 6.x:
    AM335x/437x/57xx/AM654x: qtWebkit due to GPU incapability issue with chromium-based browser. The issue is being investigated but we do not have an expected release date as of now.
