TMDSEVM572X: J5 jumper function

Part Number: TMDSEVM572X

HI,

The customer asked if the TMDSEVM572X can boot without pressing the power switch.

As a result, when J5 is shorted, EVM starts without power switch.

Is this correct?

I thought J5 was just a feature to avoid automatic PMIC shutdown.

  • Hi Kouji,

The behavior of the powerhold signal will depend on the boot pins. For the TMDSEVM572X, connecting the J5 jumper will short the power hold to LDO_VRTC. That voltage will be present as soon as the external power supply is connected and, since it is connected to powerhold, will turn on the PMIC. Based on this I don't believe that the button will need to be pressed.  More detail can be found in the following post.
