MP4V-ES running on DM3730 EVM- (TMDXEVM3730) - CPU resource issue seen when encoding --

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

DWe are currently running a Telephony application on the DM3730 (TMDXEVM3730) eval board. The video quality is ok on the receiving end except for some

video glitches here and there.

However, a bigger problem exists on the Video encoding side. We seem to be running out of cpu or the cpu is not fast enough to encode the Video scheme we are running, namely MP4V-ES.

Wwe are running the Linux OS with the standard release from your package.

I dont know how to resolve this issue, or if it is an adjustment we have to make in order to use the DSP resources, or maybe

modifying the driver so we get to use the DSP resources, or maybe it already is. I just have no clear explanation as to how the OMAP uses the DSP resources when you are developing a driver in this environment.

The linux based libraries I'm using is libavcodec. Does  TI have special compile options so that these libraries get compiled or optimized to

use the DSP part of the OMAP cpu.
