We have one customer asking if AM5718 is capable of splitting video/image up to to four different displays?

    Hi Art,

    Technically this is doable under certain constrain, but not a supported use case by the DSS driver. AM5718 has 3 LCD (they all share same PLL) and one HDMI display output. Constrains -

    1. Since all three LCD out share same PLL, these three displays will need to have same clocking requirement.
    2. The display driver doesn't support multiple displays that are sharing  PLL
    3. DSS IP is capable of doing some overlays (graphics + video or video + video), in this use case, the overlay feature cannot be used as DSS has only 4 input pipeline and all 4 will be busy with the video inputs

    Hi Art,

    I would like to make small clarification on #1 above - 

    There's a single PLL, but inside DSS wthere's 2 clock dividers (LCK  and PCK dividers) for each video pipeline. So if one display has pixel  clock of PLL/1/1, another could have, say, PLL/2/1.
