[TDA4M] - BoardID EEPROM needed for SDK compatibility

Hi Champs,

in case you do a custom board design (based of the TDA4 EVM) but want to run Processor SDK SW unmodified. Do I need to populate the BoardID EEPROM?

Does the Processor SDK check the boardID EEPROM? How would the SW behave if no boardID EEPROM is found?

Thanks and kind regards,

  • Hi,

Custom board might have different board muxes, etc. due to which it is quite unlikely that Processor SDK SW will work unmodified on a custom board.

Uboot will not be able to automatically populate overlays if EEPROM is blank, so all peripherals might not be enabled which might break some of the SDK demos.

You can choose to modify uenv.txt to force a particular overlay if you necessarily want to keep EEPROM blank.

    Hope this helps.
