Hello, everybody!

I have problem with SD card on my EVM development kit.

I try to control the SD card, but card doesn't respond to any command.
Then I checked Card Detect pin (#9) and there weren't any changes. There is low signal on this pin when SD card is in slot. But there is the same state on this pin when card is out of slot.

I set I2C expander and checked all the SD lines on this slot with oscilloscope. But I can't find mistakes.

Is this a hardware mistake?

Hi Ivan,

Can you check if you have set the dip switches correctly. Please refer to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../TDA_SBL_UserGuide.pdf

To rule out HW you try SD file IO app present here: PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION_03_07_00_00\ti_components\drivers\pdk_01_10_03_07\packages\ti\drv\stw_lld\examples\mmcsd\sd_file_io.

In case you don't have CCS setup, ypu can use prebuilt SBL MLO and try to boot in SD boot.

I don't need to boot in SD boot. I just want to write some data to SD card and read it. How does it help me?

Hi Ivan,

The idea to have SBL boot is to make sure that SD interface is fine on your EVM i.e. there is no HW issue.

Hi, Rishabh

I've tried to find SYSBOOT(SW2)[1:16] on my EVM board, but there is no SW2 [1:16] on my board. But there are two SYSBOOT swithes both SW2 [0:7] and SW3[8:15].

What do I need to do in this case?

Sorry for the oversight, I meant SYSBOOT[0:15] and not SYSBOOT[1:16].

What configuration do I need to choose?

This document shows that TDA3xx 15X15 devices don't support SD boot mode. Supported modes are QSPI_1, QSPI4, NOR.

Hi Ivan,

TDA3 has QSPI_SD boot that you can use.

You need to set SYSBOOT for QSPI and then try to boot with pre-built app image.

Hi,

I've found the problem. There was a mistake in argument of command. Now I see the answer from SD card.
But there is a new problem. I see the answer with oscilloscope, but processor doesn't catch that, because CTO (command timeout error) flag generates right after command send.

According to the SD spec host have to wait about 80 clock cycles for an answer. As I see it on oscilloscope the answer is closer to command than 80 clock cycles.

I can't understand what's the problem
