  • Hi

    can you clarify if you are running on TI EVM or on a custom board

    from the boot log information that you have shared, it looks like the SD card that hosts the root filesystem is not being detected correctly as part of the boot up sequence.

    Can you review changes(if you are using custom board) with respect to handling of SD card

  • Hi Sriram,

    We run VSDK 03 05 on custom board. Now, it can boot normal. We modify dra7-evm.dts as below, but we don't know which pin we need to set, just set regulator-always-on now.

    Thanks

    Terence

    evm_3v3_sd: fixedregulator-sd {

    compatible = "regulator-fixed";
    regulator-name = "evm_3v3_sd";
    regulator-min-microvolt = <3300000>;
    regulator-max-microvolt = <3300000>;

    enable-active-high;

    gpio=<&pcf_gpio_21 5 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>;

    after:

    evm_3v3_sd: fixedregulator-sd {

    compatible = "regulator-fixed";
    regulator-name = "evm_3v3_sd";
    regulator-min-microvolt = <3300000>;
    regulator-max-microvolt = <3300000>;
    regulator-always-on;
    regulator-active-high;

    };

  • Hi,

    So, it's working now and you wan to confirm the dts changes?
    Is my understanding correct?

    Regards,
    Vishal

  • Hi Terence,

    -1-
    On TI EVM, we have a GPIO that controls the power switch to turn on EVM_3V3_SD, and that's why we have the below GPIO entry in our kernel.
    Based on your board design this may not apply, so it's ok to skip this.

    gpio=<&pcf_gpio_21 5 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>;

    -2-

    Based on your board design if you need this regulator to be on all the time.  You have to set the 'regulator-always-on' property.
    For more information on regulator properties of dts, refer to file Documentation/devicetree/bindings/regulator/regulator.txt in Kernel

    Regards,
    Vishal
