CCS/TMS320C6743: Programming external flash during production

Part Number: TMS320C6743

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi, I am very slowly becoming familiar with the C6000 platform, and finally have a simple SYS/BIOS executing.

I am now concerned with how to program a standalone build into external NAND (EMIFa).

I have done quite a lot of searching and find references to Flashburn. This seems to be no longer part of CCS, but a separate product. I have installed Flashburn 4, but it seems to have a problem with following references to other XML files from the target configuration. I tried copying those files to the project, but now it cannot find a driver for IcePick_C_0.

Are these known compatibility issues between CCS9 and Flashburn 4? Or is there some environment setup that I am missing? The Software Design Solutions website mentions that Flashburn 4.6 is compatible with CCS 4 - 6, so perhaps this is no longer a viable tool?

Now that Flashburn is a separate product that is not controlled by TI, do you have another recommended tool that is mature enough for use in a production environment? What are others typically doing to perform the initial programming of SBL etc to a production board?

ccs 9.1.0.00010

xdctools_3_55_02_22_core

Flashburn 4.60.0.771

Many thanks,

James
