[DRA829] power supply for DRA829 in sleep mode

Hi,

In J721E EVM, dual Leo PMIC, If the MCU_domain needs to be active, Main domain is powered off, which power supply is necessary to keep alive, is there any software implementation to achieve this purpose? (customer wants to figure out how to get to this state)

Are there any documents about this topic?

Please kindly provide some comments.

Hi Peter,

from TRM section "5.2.3 Device Power States":

MCU-ONLY: WKUP and MCU voltage domains are ON, and MAIN SoC side voltage domains are OFF

except for 1.8 V IO rail. External DDR memory is in SR optionally.

I will ping an expert to comment how it is implemented in sw.

Hi Peter Li,

There is a sequence of steps to be followed when switching from active to a low power mode like the MCU-ONLY mode. This involves saving the state of many cores and so on. Most of the steps are done via the DMSC FW. I am not sure if we have an API supported in SW to currently do this. I'll get back to you once I check on this.

Hi Peter Li,

I don't think we have a supported API in the power management module yet for this. I can check with the DMSC team and let you know if this is a big change or fairly straight forward from a driver/application sw perspective.
