AM3359: 1GB DDR3 support

Hi All,

We are planning to use DDR 1GB single chip with AM3359 processor. In all the reference design we could only 512MB DDR interface.

Could you please suggest any reference design or DDR3 1GB IC which TI has done testing?

Hi,

There are no AM335x reference designs with a single 1GB memory, because of the simple reason that there was no such memory available at the time the designs were released.

Can you please specify the memory part number, and post the datasheet if available?

This indeed seems like a single-die memory. The 512Meg x 16 part should work with AM335x.

By x16 he is referring to the number of data pins.

We are planning to design AM3358 processor board with 1GB DDR3 ram. As i could not find any reference design having 1GB RAM.

Do TI provide support for the firmware and hardware development?

For hardware development, follow the guidelines in section 7.7.2.3 of the AM335x Datasheet Rev. K.
