AM3358: eMMC programming

After going through a lot of documentation and tutorials, I still wonder if there is any direct tutorial on Preparing an Image and Flashing it to the eMMC of Beaglebone Black using the latest version of AM335x Processor SDK.

Please guide me with the Exact Process.

Hello,

The easiest way to program the eMMC on the BBB is to use the SD Card to boot and copy the images from the SD Card to the eMMC. Is this the process you are looking for?

Hello,

This post has a great step-by-step process.

This is very similar to the create-sdcard.sh script that we provide in the /bin folder. So, it should serve as a great reference for you as well. The process for SD Card and eMMC are very similar.

Hi Ron,

I followed the procedure and could store in the 2 partitions. However, u-boot keeps searching for a USB-RNDIS connection and doesnt boot from eMMC. What are the changes required to be done?

I tried to issue mmc dev 1 and boot commands at the u-boot console and could boot from eMMC but this is not always repeatable. It works only once and a few trials.

Please assist me

Anwej,

You'll need to modify your U-Boot environment to adjust the bootcmd and then save the environment.

Try using "pr" to show the current environment and look at the different settings. This should allow you to get the boot setting you need and save them so that they stay set for reboots.
