AMIC110: Operation performance points

Part Number: AMIC110

Hi there,

on the eval board (TMDXICE110-BTA) is the power for VDDS derived from da dedicated LDO (1V8_2). According to the datasheet (SPRS971C chapter 6) it is also possible using just one 1V8 for powering all 1.8V AMIC110 supplies - am I correct?

from the datasheet:
B. When using the ZCZ package option, VDD_MPU and VDD_CORE power inputs may be powered from the same
source if the application only uses operating performance points (OPPs) that define a common power supply voltage
for VDD_MPU and VDD_CORE. The ZCE package option has the VDD_MPU domain merged with the VDD_CORE
domain.

the AMIC110 comes only in the ZCZ package option and the ZCE package option is not avilable - isn't it so?

if the application only uses operating performance points (OPPs) that define a common power supply voltage
for VDD_MPU and VDD_CORE

where do I find this information on which OPPs the AMIC is configured?

or where/how can I set this OPP mode?

  • Hi,

Information about the OPP's can be found in section 5.4 of the AMIC110 Datasheet Rev. C: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/amic110.pdf In this document you will also find packaging information.

  • Hello Biser,

    thanks for answering.

    I read this part,

I understood that the AMIC110 comes only in the ZCZ package option.

But I can't find anny information how to set the OPPs mode (OPP100/OPP50). As metioned in the previous mail can I supply the AMIC110 with only one 1.8V voltage comming from one DCDC converter?

Where do i find the OPPs settings for the eval bord?

the datasheet says: if the application only uses operating performance points (OPPs) that define a common power supply voltage
    for VDD_MPU and VDD_CORE

whitch are the OPPs that define a common power supply voltage for VDD_MPU and VDD_CORE?

    best regards

    Thomas

Yes, this is possible, with the exception of VDDS_RTS. See section 6.1 in the datasheet for proper sequencing.

VDD_CORE power supply can be 1.1V or 0.95V. Since AMIC110 works maximum up to 300MHz, this means that VDD_MPU can also be 1.1V or 0.95V. Furthermore DDR3 is not supported at VDD_CORE = 0.95V, which leaves you with only two possible combinations (Table 5-8). The device should start with both core and MPU at 1.1V. Depending on your power supply solution, after the device boots it is possible to lower VDD_MPU to 0.95V.

The AMIC110 EVM uses a PMIC which cannot be regulated, and there is a common 1.1V supply for both VDD_CORE and VDD_MPU. Therefore it's always operating in OPP100.
