66AK2G12: 66AK2G12ABYA100E

Part Number: 66AK2G12

Hello,

Is 66AK2G12ABYA100E interchangeable (direct substitute) with 66AK2G12ABYA100  if EtherCAT is not needed in a design?

Are there any drawbacks (SW/power consumption) if using 66AK2G12ABYA100E part for designs where 66AK2G12ABYA100 was originally assumed?

Thank you.

Regards

Juraj

  • Hi,

Both devices have the same package: ABY, so they are pin-to-pin compatible. If you follow the datasheet recommendations (recommended operating conditions & power-up/power-down sequences and the timings) you shouldn't have any problems.

    Best Regards,
    Yordan

  • Hi Juraj,

The power needed for the 66AK2G12 is determined by the power estimation tool found on the product page.  EtherCAT is implemented using the PRU-ICSS module. Check the settings you have entered in the tool for your power supply design and ensure that you have that module enable and a utilization percentage selected. If your design provides enough power based on the tool, you should be able to use the 100E version of the part.
