TMS320C6652: BOOT MODE SETTING

Part Number: TMS320C6652

Hi,

We are using TMS320C6652.

Need to know if we can leave these signals unconnected or should we consider this signals during Boot mode.

PCIESSMODE[1:0]/GPIO[15:14], and PCIESSEN/TIMI0)

These signals are mentioned as reserved in C6652.

Regards,

Divya

  • Hi, Divya,

The PCIESSMOD[1:0] is shared with GPIO[15:14] and PCIESSEN with TIMI0. C6652 doesn't support PCIe, so they are actually the GPIO pins. Boot mode uses only 13 pins which shared with GPIO[1:13].

  • Just want to clarify that PCIESSEN is shared with TIMI0 and GPIO16. Please see table 4-2 on Page 18 of the Data Manual.

  • Divya,

The responses from Rex are correct.  However, these pins are 'Reserved' related to boot configuration latching.  This means that they have no defined boot mode functionality but they must be in their default state whenever the boot mode is latched.  Therefore, if you are using one of these pins for its alternate function as highlighted by Rex, above, you must monitor RESETSTATz to return these pins to their default state when the boot configuration is latched.
