AM4378: Yocto support

Part Number: AM4378

i have following queries regarding AM4378 Linux BSP and packages

  1. Is Linux BSP supported from TI directly or through third party
  2. How about help/support for Linux BSP
  3. Does it support YOCTO Linux, if yes which version
  4. On 4.3” kit, It only has QSPI flash, so I hope Linux boots from QSPI on this EVK and all file system is there on QSPI flash only.

Thanks

  • Hello, thank you for your post.

The Linux BSP is supported by TI. Our focus is on drivers and components that TI provides directly or authors. Other open source components or generic Linux issues are supported by the appropriate communities.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure how this is meant to be different from above?

Our current SDK supports Yocto 2.6, Thud. We move to newer releases at an annual basis. So, we are never more than a couple of quarters behind the latest release, and often on the current release.

The SK also supports booting off of SD Card, as do most of the rest of our EVMs. This is the primary method used to evaluate the SDK. This can of course be moved to eMMC (very similar to SD Card) fairly easily. Yes, this board supports booting of of either.

Thanks for your questions and I hope I've addressed them properly.

  • Thanks Ron for your prompt reply.. All points clear...
