Issue running DM37x at 720 and 800Mhz

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65930, TPS65950

Hi:

My customer is having issue bumping the MPU (core) speed to 720 or 800Mhz on the DM37x board. And here are some observations.

  1. Modified the X-Loader appropriately to select the correct PRCM values for speed up gradation.
  2. The Linux kernel already has the “cpufreq” driver to manipulate the frequencies at runtime.
  3. We experimented by changing frequency on the OMAP3EVM (ES1.2) board we have and we were able to set it at 800Mhz and 1GHz.
  4. However when we tried the same thing on the customer's board the changes did not take effect.
  5. When we verified the Die IDs of the OMAP37xx they were different. We are not sure if this is supported on the processor we have used.

The Die ID is:

Sr. No

PCUTouch OMAP37xx

OMAP3EVM – 37xx

Die ID:

1f1200011ff0000001592f350100c009

058c00211ff00000015a5e590f02a005

PMIC Chip

TPS65930

TPS65950

Can some one throw light on what could be the issue ?.

Thanks,

Pradhyum
