AM335x Starter Kit (TMDSSK3358 Board ) use PMIC is TPS65910

BeagleBone KIT use PMIC is TPS65217

question :

AM335x Starter Kit (TMDSSK3358 Board ) PMIC chage to TPS65217 , the (TMDSSK3358 Board) source code need modify ? or not .

Hi William,

Do you use AM335x PSDK Linux v6.01 (kernel v4.19.59) ?

If yes, for u-boot source code modifications you will beed to update below files:

1. u-boot-2019.01/arch/arm/dts/am335x-evmsk.dts - here tps65910 is used, you need to update this DTS file for TPS65217. You can refer to am335x-bone-common.dtsi for example of AM335x TPS65217 usage.

2. u-boot-2019.01/board/ti/am335x/board.c

Here BBB board is using TPS65217 related functions bone_not_connected_to_ac_power() and scale_vcores_bone(), while AM335xSK is using TPS65910 function scale_vcores_generic()

In Linux kernel, you need to modify only below DTS file:

linux-4.19.59/arch/arm/boot/dts/am335x-evmsk.dts

This file is using TPS65910, you need to change it to TPS65217. You can refer the below BBB DTS file for reference:

linux-4.19.59/arch/arm/boot/dts/am335x-bone-common.dtsi
