TDA2P-ABZ: Can I use PCIe to store it on an SSD and output it over Giga Ethernet?

Part Number: TDA2P-ABZ

Hi TI team,

I have one question.

Is it possible to receive video input and store it on SSD using PCIe and output it on GIGA Ethernet at the same time?

Let me know if you have a similar example.

Thanks,

  • Hi,

We have a similar solution for our cascade radar device.

There we run linux and save data on ssd using PCIE driver.

But for that you have make some changes in uboot and kernel.

Please cascade radar docs for those change and build instruction.

  • Hi,

Its been long since any update on this threads.

I hope the issue is resolved.

if not then please reply below or create a new thread for different issue.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your support.

    I have some more questions.

    1. Ethernet speed of TDA2PX is Max 1Gbps, it is right?

    2. How many cameras can TDA2Px ISP handle?

    3. If it is not RAW data (ISP built-in camera), can I bypass the ISP of internal TDA2Px or use PASS mode?

    4. TDA2PX PCIe is 2port 3.0. How many lanes does each port support? Support 1Lane per port in datasheet. Is that correct?

    Please check..

    Thanks.

  • Hi Kim,

    I will answer 2 & 3 questions,

2, The default ISP clock is 350MHz, so if we consider 65% HW utilization, we could get around 230MP/s performance..

3, Yes, if you input is YUV, ISP is not needed.

  • 1. Ethernet speed of TDA2PX is Max 1Gbps, it is right?

You are right. Theoretical max is 1 Gbps.

    4. TDA2PX PCIe is 2port 3.0. How many lanes does each port support? Support 1Lane per port in datasheet. Is that correct?

TDA2px instantiates two PCIe subsystems (PCIe_SS1 and PCIe_SS2). The device PCIe_SS1 controller supports up to two 16-bit data lanes on its PIPE port. The device PCIe_SS2 controller supports only one 16-bit data lane on its PIPE port.

    Thanks and regards
