McBSP2 as UART

Hello,

I am trying to use McBSP2 as UART using the instructions given in spra633 (spra633c.zip) on DSK6416 with 5-6k interface. I have connected pins 9, 11, 13 on J15 on 5-6k interface board. I have set the CLKGDV value to 135 to allow 115200 mbps. I have also routed the mcbsp2 off board by setting particular bit in CPLD register (60000006, 7/8).

I get the 'Transmit Completed' message but the receiving part does not work. The program does not stop.

Any issues with this? Any McBSP2 setting I am missing? I have uesed J16 connected on 5-6k interface board for a AD card and that works fine.

Hi,

I have a similar problem.

EDMA perform the transmission but MCBSP doesn't put data into the serial line.

What did you do to solve your problem?

Why do you use the value 135 to get baudrate = 115200?

If the clock is 600MHz, Shouldn't you use 600M/(16*115200)-1 = 324?

I read the clock is divided by 4 in c64x DSPs, so I'll try tomorrow with the new CLKGDV calculated value.
