NDK frame checksum error

Hi , in my configuration I see lots of Frame Checksum errors using wireshark on Ethernet packets Less than the minimum packet size of 64 bytes. When this happens the packet is padded with non zero bytes

which is why I think we get the frame checksum error?

Hi can you please confirm that frames less than 64 bytes are padded out with zero data?

We are using a TI sitara processor with a wired Ethernet connection and release 03_01_00.

ok found that it was fixed in release 04_00_00 presumably by forcing zero padding?

Hi Brian,

Which system are you using for Sitara (TI RTOS or Linux)? When you said it was fixed in release 04_00_00, what software package you meant to be (NDK, PDK or Processor SDK)? Which TI device you are using (AM335x, AM437x, AM57xx or AM65xx)?

Hi,

We are using Ti Rtos on AM437x , processor sdk - version 04_00_00 fixed a crc problem for frames less than the minimum size?

Hi , I believe PRSDK-2395 was mentioned as being fixed in release note 04_00_00_00?

Hi Brian,

I checked PRSDK-2395. It did mention the fix for the problem similar to yours. You are correct the fix is to change the packet size less than 64 to 64 and pad the rest with zero.

Can you please identify the fix is it in cpsw_nimu_eth.c

if ( PBM_getValidLen(hpkt < 60)

PBM_SetValidLen( hptk , 60)

Yes, the fix is as following in packet send function:

/* Make sure the driver does not transmit packet less than min. as per the
     * Ethernet standards. */
    if( PBM_getValidLen(hPkt) < 60U )
    {
