[TDA4VM/DRA829] TSN support in QNX? (SoC Main Domain)

Hi,

Customer is going to use QNX 7.0 in Main Domain and AutoSAR in MCU Domain. End product is Ethernet Switch.

There're a lot of 802.1 related protocol stacks like 802.1AS, 802.1Qav, 802.1Q,802.1x, 802.1br ...etc.
We would like to know what are the TSN SW offerings from TI for QNX?
Will QNX own these protocol and switch firmware?

  • Hi James,

We assume that the customer will be planning to use the CPSW9G for the “Ethernet Switch” Product.  TI’s current plan is to offer the CPSW9G virtual driver (devnp) support on QNX (A72) side which will talk to the Ethernet firmware (ethfw) running on the R5 side. Both the devnp and the ethfw will be released by TI. The initial software release of the same is planned for May 2020 next year. The feature support on the CPSW9G virtual driver will be based on the customer requirements.

Most of the  TSN protocol stacks mentioned reside above the devnp driver and is part of the QNX io-pkt network manager or provided by 3rd party.

Can you let us know what are the customer requirement for the Ethernet switch? Are they in touch with QNX on this?

    Regards.

  • Hi Praveen,

    Sorry for replying late.

Yes, customer had contacted with QNX for this. I guess you may receive the same inquiries from QNX recently.

So far, customer just want to know a high level view of ethernet switch and TSN since they got RFI from different Tier-1 and car maker.

Your responds are clear for me and I'll communicate with customer.

    Thank you.
