We got a new batch with revision B OMAP on board the SOM . up until now we used revision A.

after u-boot finishes loading uImage and uImage writes to console uncompressing is done, we loose uart console to the device.

is it a known issue ? I have used the latest images of u-boot uImage from DVSDK 4_00_00_22 and still the problem is the same.

is there a known patch for this problem ? where can I download the latest kernel sources with the checked in patches for L138 davinci arch ?

Hello,

DVSDK 4.0.0.22 is based on PSP 3.20.00.13 and this release does not support OMAPL138 PG 2.0 SOM. The support for this SOM is added in latest PSP 3.20.00.14 release.

You can either use the kernel + boot loader from the latest PSP release in DVSDK 4.0 or wait for DVSDK 4.01 release (which will pull this latest PSP release and will work of the box on PG 2.0).

Hi,

I think we have the same problem. We had the tests below :

- on a board with OMAP-L138 revision A which works, we change the OMAP-L138 to revision B and the board does not work anymore.

- on a board with OMAP-L138 revision B which does not work, we change the OMAP-L138 to revision A and the board works correctly.

We use DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.11 and so kernel 2.6.33 rc4.

"PG 2.0", what does it mean ?

I have tried with uboot of DaVinci-PSP-SDK-03.20.00.14 but without success.

Now, I am going to try with the kernel of this SDK even if the version is always 2.6.33 rc4

We have only 14 OMAP-L138 revision A in stock.

This problem is very urgent; the production is going to be stopped. We need help.

Hi,

PG 2.0 means 2nd revision of SoC and you are referring to it as OMAP-L138, Rev.B.

The JTAG variant code for this new revision silicon of OMAP-L138 has changed. In Linux, while booting, there is check to see whether the JTAD ID match or not. If they do not match, Kernel fails to boot.

The below patch adds support for the new OMAP-L138 silicon revisions.

With this patch, you should be able to boot both Rev A and B silicons.
