AM3359: malloc() fails to allocate

Hello Community,

I have CCS project based on TI-RTOS in which, malloc() return NULL, it is not able to allocate memory.(I found it through checking return NULL value).

I tried to change HEAP size in ccs, but still malloc fails to allocate at some point,

Please let me know what is the issue.

Hi Pankaj,

Make sure you have setup the Heap in the .cfg file. Refer to below pointers for details:

Thanks for your answer.

As I am not using TI-RTOS and SYS/BIOS, No .cfg file in my ccs project, I am just porting some modules(PRUSS and ICSS-EMAC) from TI-RTOS to Quadros on am3359.

Please let me know how it is possible.

Do you use (PRUSS and ICSS-EMAC) bare metal CCS project?

Pavel,

Not bare metal but just Integrated this two modules in Quadros sample app.

Not using sys/bios as well as xdc.

Hi Pankaj,

Is this issue still pending? In TI-RTOS, we have a heap track tool to monitor the heap usage, not sure if there is a similar tool in Quadros which should help you debug the memory allocation issue.
