AM5728: U-boot logo display

Part Number: AM5728

HI,TI‘s engineer:

I have a problem for uboot logo , that previously displayed a YUV image. Now, I want to display the BMP image,I don't know how modify correlation register, maybe should  modify DISPC_VIDx_ATTRIBUTES. but I couldn't.  Looking forward to your reply, thanks you very much!!! Have a nice holiday.

regards,Fu.

  • Hi,
You query has been assigned to a TI engineer. Please note that response may be delayed due to Christmas and New Year holidays.
  • Fu,

can you please provide some more background, I'm not clear what you are trying to do here.

Are you saying you already have a working solution on AM57xx to display an YUV image through U-Boot? And now it's about making this solution work for differently formatted images (BMP)?

    Regards, Andreas

  • Andreas,

Yes, I can already display an yuv images through U-Boot. But the BMP images are not yet displayed, I want to know how to modify the related register to achieve this function of  display BMP images.(The previous video format was NY12, but when I change it to RGB24,  the LCD appears black screen,  I should be missing configuration of other registers.)

        Regards,Fu

  • Hi Fu,

I would need to check with somebody from our graphics team to see if there is anything special about that mode.

But if you have it already working with YUV-formatted images, why can't you just convert the BMP image you are trying to use to YUV format? Or is this not practical as you are updating the boot logo many times throughout the application runtime?

    Regards, Andreas

  • Hi Andreas:

Thank you for your answer. I have solved the problem. In addition to set formatting the image(bit4 -1), It is related to the register DISPC_VIDx_ATTRIBUTES  bit9(Enable the color space conversion ), bit10(Replication enable ) .
1.When you use yuv images, should enable the color space conversion and disable Video replication logic.

2.When you use bmp images, should disable the color space conversion and enable Video replication logic.

    Regards, Fu

  • Fu,

glad to hear. Thanks for the update and closing the loop here in the forum!

    Best Regards, Andreas
