Hi all,

Whether McBSP5 of OMAP3530 can be used for WL1271 FM_I2S interface? OMAP3530 TRM- page 2917, section 21.2.1 mentions the functionality of McBSP5 as MIDI data. Whether the McBSPs should be used only for the listed functionality? Kindly clarify

All the McBSP modules of the OMAP3530 have the same base capabilities and will support I2S.

The following McBSP modules have additional features:
McBSP1 supports a six pin interface for asynchronous transmit and receive.
McBSP2 has an additional 1024x32 "audio" buffer on both transmit and receive.
McBSP2 and McBSP3 include a Sidetone core.
