AM5728: Video processing performance

Hi,

I want to run from camera input (H.264) to LCD output (YUV8) in 10mses.
The image size and frame rate are 720P / 30fps.
Can this be achieved with the AM572x? and is there a 3rd party that can support ?

Hello,

Could you please share the resolution of the LCD? Also, your LCD is displaying a frame every 33.33 ms so please explain what you are trying to measure in 10ms.

Thank for your reply and the specification I presented was wrong, sorry.

Correctly, I want to minimize the time from camera input to H.264 encoding.
The video input from the camera is YUV8, 720P/30fps.
Is there any benchmark data from camera input to H.264 encoding for AM572x?

Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not have any benchmarking data but AM5728 is capable of doing 1080p60 (about 16ms) encode/decode. Theoretically speaking, if you are using the 720p resolution, you are looking at about 8ms for encoding plus the latency related with your camera capture (33.33ms).

I understood its feasibility.
I think H.264 will be implemented in IVA HD. Do you know a 3rd party that can support this?
