CCS/TDA4VM: Monitoring power consumption and processors' load on J721E

Hi,

As of now, there is no way to runtime-monitor the power consumption of each processor. By 'load', if you mean the CPU usage, that is possible using BIOS APIs. But you said you are running baremetal code. Do you have the PSDKRA SW?

Hi Youcef,

If you are using SYS-BIOS, you can use APIs from Load module to calculate the cpu load. But you have mentioned that you are running a baremetal application. I have a question, my understanding might be wrong :

If you are running the baremetal application on C7x, how do you expect to measure CPU load of C7x from the same core C7x? You'll need an OS running and your application on a thread (i.e as a task) and so that you can obtain the Task_load

I was thinking maybe there is a tool integrated in Code Composer Studio (running in the host) since I am running the baremetal using CCS and XDS110 probe, maybe by collecting some events from the C7x directly. Anyway I will check the API, Thank you Anand.
