66AK2H14: RTOS vs. Baremetal 66AK2H14

Part Number: 66AK2H14

Hello, correct me if I'm wrong here but I see the trend in processors requiring a OS or RTOS in order to get things working. Now so many processors have these high-speed communication links that it is very difficult or impossible to get things like: PCIe, 10G-Ethernet, SRIO, and SATA without having in RTOS. My co-workers have been writing Baremetal code for the 66AK2H14 for over a year and they always say they could be further in the project schedule if they used the TI-RTOS. So, I don't have a question, only a discussion. The future will be an RTOS for every processor can't live without it.
