TDA2HG: How do we get the temperature of cpu?

Hello,

We use TDA2HG device based on VSDK 03 05. If the device's temperature rises to a certain level，for example， 80 degrees centigrade， the system will reboot ifself. So, How do we get the temperature of cpu? Except from omapconf tool, is there any interface can we use in the kernel?

Hi Terence,

Linux kernel you should be able to read using sysfs entries:

cat /sys/class/therma/thermal_zone*/temp.

You can check which zone the sensor belongs to using:

cat /sys/class/therma/thermal_zone*/type.

Hi Terence,

Zone 0 is for CPU.

So you can query cpu temperature on Linux kernel using:

cat /sys/class/therma/thermal_zone0/temp

Terence,

This is more of a safety feature. You do not want to burn the device hence these are cooling mechanisms.

What is the output of:

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/trip_point_1_temp?

You could set them to some higher temperature but i am warning that you will be risking the device.
