Hi there,

We are considering TMS320C6748 as a candidate for a project we'll initiate shortly, and we're also checking the evaluation kits to ensure they allow us to test all the characteristics we think might come in handy. After checking TMDSLCDK6748 as evaluation kit, we've noticed it doesn't have MCBSP as expansion ports. They seemed to be used between the peripherals of the board, so unless we missed something, we understand this board wouldn't let us test this port.

I'd like to know if there's another evaluation kits available for this processor which might have MCBSP available, or if that can't be fulfilled, to be pointed out other processors of similar functionality that have this communication port available in their evaluation kits.

    You are correct that there are no expansion headers for the McBSP on the LCDK, however if you're willing to do some soldering you can still do some testing.

    The image below shows the connections used in the past for externally connecting the McBSP and McASP on the LCDK.

    Let me know if this is an option for you. If not, I recommend exploring our other processors that have McBSP driver support in Processor SDK RTOS, as this SDK is the current software offering supported by TI. The following other devices have McBSP driver support in Processor SDK RTOS:

    We've been checking the two processors you pointed at, and wonder now if they're compatible with XDS510 emulation probe. The available evaluation boards for each mentions compatibility with XDS200 and XDS560, and since we own XDS510 it would be convenient not needing to acquire a different emulation probe.
