Question is, could we follow this link http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprac49/sprac49.pdf to achieve early splash screen @ uboot ?

Hi Scott,

This appNote mentions steps to implement on early splash screen on dra7xx device with uboot 2014 and kernel 3.14.

You should be able to apply this technique on AM57x also provided same kernel version and uboot.

TI has not validated on latest version of kernels (i,e 4.4, 4.14, 4.19 etc).

The patches also not appliable on these versions, it needs some rework to port these patches on these kernels.

Will TI going to support early splash screen function on newer uboot 2018 and kernel v4.xx ? it really satisfy user experience during boot-up.

The oldest PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-AM57X i can find is kernel V4.1.6 with uboot 2015.07

There are no AM57x SDK with uboot 2014 and kernel 3.14.

Hi Scott,

We have not tried early splash on any other kernel version but porting those patches need some effort as it may not be applyable on latest kernels.
