Part Number: AM5728
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335, AM5746
Hi,
We are developing a new architecture for our electronic. Nowadays we have a TMS320F28335 which communicates with a Cyclone III FPGA using a XINTF interface. We were taking into account a Sitara AM5746 processor and a Cyclone 10 GX FPGA for our new desing. I have seen that there is a similiar interface for this new model called EMIF which we could use for this purpose. However, we would like to use a serial protocol in order to comunicate both devices like PCIe in order to decrease the number of paths involved in the communication and increase speed and flexibility. I have seen inside Intel website that the Cyclone 10 GX supports PCIe hard cores as well as Sitara AM5746 does, so I belived it could be a valid option.
Is the EMIF interface the only/best way to communicate both? Are there other alternatives like PCIe for this purpose?
Thanks in advance.
