TDA4VMXEVM: What is the purpose BOOT EEPROM on TDA4 EVM?

Part Number: TDA4VMXEVM

Dear Champs,

I would like to check what is the purpose of BOOT EEPROM connected to MCU_I2C0 on the TDA4 EVM.

Is it for I2C booting of TDA4?

What is the content of this BOOT EEPROM?

Thanks and Best Regards,

SI.

  • The TDA4 device supports booting from several different memory interfaces and peripherals, including OSPI, UART, RGMII, and I2C (and others).  The I2C Boot EEPROM was included in the system for customers who might want to utilize/test the I2C boot interface, or for general I2C memory storage.  The contents of the memory are blank by default for the TDA4 EVM.
