PROCESSOR-SDK-AM437X: DCAN timeout

Hi:

I download the linux-rt-4.18.38 kenrel src from IT and switch on can0 device node in dts.

when I enable can0 of am4376 board and do like following:

#ip link set can0 type can bitrate 250000

#ip link set can0 up

  net can0: c_can_hw_raminit_wait_syscon:time out

  c_can_platform 481d000.can can0:setting BTR=1c5 BRPE=0000

It sometime tells "time out", but if I do "ip link set can0 up" again, and it will tell nothing.

and what's wrong with it?

    I am checking into the DCAN message you are asking about.

    I have a few questions to make sure the problem is defined. One thing I want to make sure of that you are the kernel version that you are using is 4.19.38 and not 4.18.38? The RT SDK that you started with is 6.00.00.07, is that correct?

    Which board are you using? A TI board? 

    Is the DCAN port attached to another CAN device? Please describe the setup in use here.

    Could you please attach a copy of the boot log? Please do not cut and paste into the reply window, that makes the post hard to follow along.

    Could you please attach what is returned by this command on the console?

  • Hi, thanks for your reply.

    1: The board is made by myself ,but it's mostly the similar with TI evm board.

    2: The boot log is in attchment.

    3:  It always tells "time out" no matter whether connect a can slave device or not.

    4:  It's strange that the can driver works well although it tells "time out" when I up it. The warning message "time out" seems to have no effection .

         I test it using a can socket with can slave device,  It works ok and it sends and receives data packages correctly.
