TDA4VM: 1.8V IO support

Part Number: TDA4VM

We would like to begin moving our custom TDA4 hardware to 1.8V IO.

1) Has TI validated that all dual voltage IO domains on the SoC do in fact work at 1.8V?

2) Is there a 1.8V IO reference design available?

3) Is there an app note available to guide us in making the necessary changes to the PMIC power solution?

Thanks.

  • 1.  The same "Dual voltage" LVCMOS IO is used across the different domains (i.e., each VDDSHVn domain).  We have validated on the EVM only with the given partitioning.  However, we do test on ATE that the IOs in each domain can function at each level.  There should be no concern with changing the mapping from 3.3V to 1.8V.

    2. No.

    3. The basic implementation is shown on the EVM SOM rev E7 schematic on pg 19.   You'll need to ensure that the required current can be supplied by the PMIC LDO for each grouping.
